The McArthur Field Microscope - Open University Model is perfect for anyone requiring an ultra-portable microscope out in the field, in the classroom, etc.
These are highly suitable for looking at subjects mounted to glass slides.
The flexible illumination options allow subjects to be illuminated by internal lighting (for indoor use), external light through the direct light aperture, or via natural daylight from the sky.
It features glass lenses, a 10x eyepiece, an 8x cemented doublet objective and a 20x objective using a pair of cemented doublets that are air-spaced. This combination yields 80x and 200x.
These microscopes are refurbished, and come with a two-page double-sided instruction manual, and one year warranty. There will be some light scuffing and discoloration of the housing; nothing that will affect performance.
Caution: Do not use the Sun as a source of illumination. Doing so could damage your eyes.
Don't forget to pick up some blank slides. Real microscopes are sold without slides. Browse for microscope accessories such as slides, cover slips, and specimen slides.
