The Panoptic series of eyepieces from Tele Vue delivers a wide 68° apparent field of view, with Nager-like performance. Although the apparent field is smaller than Nagler eyepieces, the field is considerable over standard Plossl eyepieces.

The inclusion of an interface lens (later to become the basis of the Powermate lenses) was the best way Al Nagler could devise to improve edge of field performance while keeping size, weight, and cost to a minimum.
