Where are you pointing your telescope? Can you show me how to find The Little Dipper? There's a teapot in space?
Sound familiar? Every astronomer has been asked questions like these, but it gets tricky trying to point things out when your frame of reference is a bunch of stars, and you're trying to point out other stars.
Green laser pointers are valuable tools for pointing out objects in the night sky. The green laser beam reflects off dust and moisture in the air, providing a convenient aiming line that is visible for miles. Due to parallax, the observer and his/her students can see the beam as it seems to reach the same position in the sky.
You can also mount these lasers directly to your telescope. We recommend the Orion Green Laser Pointer Bracket.
NEW - electronic feedback regulation - produces stable beam output, even in cold weather. Lithium batteries recommended.
Caution: never aim the laser through glass or off reflective surfaces, allow the light to enter the eye, or aim at any vehicle (car, bike, plane, helicopter). It is illegal to interfere with the operations of any vehicle.
