Orion Intelliscope XT10i 254mm (10") Dobsonian Telescope w/ Object Locator

Orion Intelliscope XT10i 254mm (10") Dobsonian Telescope w/ Object Locator

Due to high demand and global product shortages due to the pandemic, please call for availability.

Dobsonian telescopes pack a light-gathering punch, and are quite affordable, but they don't help you locate objects. Sure, you could hire an astronomer to point to everything in the sky, or you could use the Orion Intelliscope with Object Locator.

The Intelliscope Dobsonian series make navigating the night sky a breeze. Encoders on both axes combine with the object locator computer to provide an easy-to-read digital read-out that shows you where you're pointing, and a countdown to the object you're trying to locate. It extends the simplicity of the Dobsonian's "point and shoot" design, while not doing everything for you like goto telescopes often do.

According to Canadian astronomy guru Terence Dickinson, the Dobsonian telescope is the closest thing to the ideal beginner's telescope (Nightwatch, 4th edition, page 69). This is due to the outstanding amount of light gathering and simplicity versus the cost.
