Tele Vue has done it again, and pushed the envelope with the Ethos-SX - an eyepiece that yields a 110° apparent field of view. The "SX" stands for "Simulator eXperience". Stars render as pin-points across the full field. When observing planets like Jupiter, the view is as if you're parked in orbit.
This eyepiece is the seventh model in the series. Compromises prevent this apparent field of view from being added to much longer focal length eyepieces, and there is little demand for shorter focal lengths.
The eyepiece fits 1.25" telescopes, and includes a 2" thread-on adapter for versatility. It also doubles as a more stable stand for the eyepiece.
Tele Vue eyepieces are best-in-class, and truly exquisite. The attention to every detail, from producing the highest-quality optics to the fit and finish, and you'll know why you must have at least one in your collection. We bet you can't own just one.
One of the most expensive features of good optics is contrast, and the more, the better. The Tele Vue Ethos are high in contrast, thanks to extra-low reflection high-efficiency coatings tuned to the composition of each element, and flat-finished baffles.
The Ethos design is essentially multiple eyepiece designs blended into one.
