The Panoptic series of eyepieces from Tele Vue delivers a wide 68° apparent field of view, with Nager-like performance. Although the apparent field is smaller than Nagler eyepieces, the field is considerable over standard Plossl eyepieces.
The inclusion of an interface lens (later to become the basis of the Powermate lenses) was the best way Al Nagler could devise to improve edge of field performance while keeping size, weight, and cost to a minimum.
These eyepieces are suitable for anyone, and any telescope. They are well-corrected to f/4. When combined with a Tele Vue Paracorr coma corrector, the 35mm yield spectacular performance over the full field of an f/4.5 Newtonian.
Tele Vue's legendary eyepieces are best-in-class, and truly exquisite. The attention to every detail, from producing the highest-quality optics to the fit and finish, and you'll know why you must have at least one in your collection. We bet you can't own just one.
One of the most expensive features of good optics is contrast, and the more, the better. The highly optimized anti-reflection coatings, precision-ground edge-blackened lenses, inner light-suppression threads and rubber eyecup deliver the goods.
